Maintenance instructions for PVD cutlery:

Wash the cutlery carefully by hand before first use. The cutlery will be used intensively, which is why it is very important to maintain the cutlery properly. Avoid contact with scouring pads, bleach and the use of soda. Rinse off leftovers immediately or wash cutlery immediately after use. After all, long-term exposure to salt and food acids causes damage. Do not soak the cutlery either. After washing, use a soft cloth to dry the cutlery.

The colored PVD cutlery (Physical Vapor Deposition) in gold, copper or black contains a thin titanium coating, which provides a vibrant color. The PVD cutlery is dishwasher safe provided you follow the instructions below:

  • The machine must be properly adjusted for optimal effectiveness of the detergent and thermal disinfection.
  • Rinse off food residue before placing cutlery in the dishwasher. Prolonged exposure to food salts and acids can damage the cutlery.
  • Avoid aggressive cleaning agents, as they can damage the cutlery.
  • Use cleaning agents with a phosphate content of 3% or lower.
  • Use cleaning agents that are PH neutral.
  • Select the washing program with a maximum temperature of 40°C
  • Place the knives separately from the forks and/or spoons in the cutlery basket to prevent contact corrosion.
  • Knives are made of a different type of steel than forks and spoons. Touching different types of steel can cause damage.
  • Remove the cutlery from the dishwasher as soon as the program has finished and wipe it dry with a soft cloth to prevent stains.
  • Remove water stains with a soft cloth to maintain the shine.

Please note that colored PVD cutlery will still fade over time even if the above care instructions are followed.
