Reusables
SUP legislation
The Single-Use Plastics (SUP) legislation is an important step in the fight against plastic pollution and promoting sustainability. This legislation focuses on reducing the use of disposable items and limiting the impact of plastic on the environment. The consequences are wide-ranging. Single-use items such as plastic straws, stirrers, plastic cutlery, and plastic plates and cups are banned. The Single-Use Plastics (SUP) legislation is an important step towards reducing our dependence on single-use plastics. But what is the alternative? Those are Reusables.
Alternatives to disposable cups
We offer various solutions for the ban on disposable cups. You can choose the HuskeeCup, which is mainly made from recycled coffee bean husks. These coffee bean peels would otherwise be thrown away by the growers, but are now converted into a sustainable reusable cup.Polypropylene reusable cups
Another alternative that can be used as Reusables are the polypropylene cups. These cups can easily be taken with you to to-go locations. Because thin/soft polypropylene cups retain less heat, they will not dry properly in a dishwasher. Beware of bacteria and mold formation when stacking wet cups. A solution for this is newly developed drying cabins that are placed next to the dishwasher. In addition, there are adapted baskets to prevent cups from "flying away" and as few contact points as possible of added value.
Polypropylene is made via a chemical process, but polypropylene can be recycled into a new product.
