Delicious cooking with beautiful ceramics is pure romance, pure interaction. Pascale Naessens designed Pure, her first tableware line. For Pascale, her meeting with the Tunisian Sabiha marked the beginning of her fascination with ceramics. Pure embodies authenticity and warmth created from organic lines and natural materials.

Design Process - Pure by Pascale Naessens

Pascale became fascinated by pottery and pottery. She took intensive courses on ceramics, glazing and baking techniques for a number of years. She created earthenware tableware in her own workshop. She then took her prototypes to Serax. This visit would lead to the collaboration that resulted in the 'Pure' tableware line.

Designer Pascale Naessens

Pascale Naessens: 'While making a report in Tunisia, I saw the ceramist Sabiha Ayari at work. It immediately hit me in the stomach, I felt the passion, it was almost pure jealousy, I wanted to be able to do that too. Once back home I started looking for a studio. I trained for many years with the ceramist Bie Van Gucht and completed various internships in ceramics, glazing and firing techniques. It all started small, my first turntable was in the kitchen, much to my husband's annoyance. But I loved it. I wanted to make my own tableware. It is simply fantastic to eat your own dishes from your own homemade plates. Moreover, I liked colors and glazes that were alive and at that time you almost only found boring, white tableware. Only later did the idea come to submit my plates to Serax, a Belgian company that is known far beyond the borders for its artistic tableware and other design objects. I went there with a little heart, but the company management was immediately enthusiastic. This is how her Pure ceramics line was born, an international success. Both consumers and top restaurants Pure-C, Bouvy and the world-famous London restaurant Hakkasan serve on Pascale Naessens' plates.'
