The special composition of clay ensures the important property of Kiryu, namely that it is very lightweight. The thin porcelain makes the series very refined and elegant. Perfectly finished porcelain, the product of centuries-old Japan craftsmanship, is as delicate as it is strong. Kiryu makes a truly lasting impression. Made from the finest Japan porcelain and finished with a traditional, vibrant blue glaze. Kiryu consists of three bowls and four plates, all microwave, oven and dishwasher safe.
Porcelain
Porcelain is a form of ceramic, composed of kaolin, quartz and feldspar and is fired at a high temperature of 1250 and 1380°CC. Porcelain is therefore hard, translucent and non-porous. Porcelain is odorless, tasteless and does not discolour. In addition, porcelain is heat-resistant up to a temperature of 250 to 300°C. After use, porcelain can be cleaned in the dishwasher.
