Ice cube machines

Who doesn't like a nice cold drink. When purchasing an ice cube machine, it is important to consider a number of factors so that you buy exactly the ice cube machine that suits you.

Different types of ice cream

Each ice cube machine produces its own type of ice cubes. Below you will find a handy overview of all types of different ice.

Ice cubes / Ice cubes

Square ice cubes, also called ice cubes, look beautiful in a tasty cocktail or glass of soft drink. Put 5 to 6 ice cubes in a glass, pour a drink over it and you have the famous 'On-the-rocks' effect. Small ice cubes are less suitable for shaking or stirring. Small ice cubes also release meltwater more quickly.

Flake ice / Nugget ice / Crushed ice

Flake ice consists of 70% ice and 30% water. This is mainly used for cooling purposes. The ice flakes are often used in fish display cases because the flakes are easy to shape, the fresh fish can be perfectly wrapped and remains cool for a long time.

Nugget ice consists of 80% ice and 20% water. Nugget ice is even more compressed than flake ice and is ideal for fresh presentation of salad bars, fresh drinks & chilled drinks and fish.

Flake ice, Nugget ice or crushed ice is often used for preparing cocktails and drinks, as it cools the drinks quickly and only dilutes them to a limited extent.

Stock bunker

Most ice cube machines are equipped with a storage bunker. After the ice has been produced, it is stored in a storage bunker. Depending on the ice machine, the stock of bunkers is available in different kgs from 26 to 136 kg. Because you can store the ice cubes, you can produce large quantities in advance for a busy event, so you will never run out of ice cubes. If you consider the above points when purchasing an ice cube machine, you can be sure that you always buy the suitable ice cube machine.
