Smartly chosen cutlery, tailored to healthcare
When designing the right cutlery for shared living spaces, we carefully considered user-friendliness, comfort, and safety. In collaboration with occupational therapists, we investigated which shapes and features best meet the needs of older residents.
For example, a spoon that isn't too deep is important to prevent swallowing problems, the fork has short tines to shorten the turning motion, and the knife is carefully selected for its excellent cutting function and comfortable grip. Furthermore, the cutlery's weight is designed for ease of use.
For shared living spaces, we recommend 18/0 stainless steel cutlery. This alloy is nickel-free, making it more affordable and suitable for everyday use, as the cutlery is typically washed and dried immediately after use. The more luxurious 18/10 version is more suitable for restaurants, where different requirements apply.
