Water softeners and water filters
Water softeners and water filters
Water softeners and water filters in various capacities from, among others, the brands Brita and Lubron.
To prevent problems caused by limescale, water softening using the principle of ion exchange is the best solution. Ion exchange has its origins in nature, like almost any form of water purification. The discovery of the phenomenon that some natural substances have the property of binding ions has resulted in the development of a large number of synthetic materials known as ion exchange resins. The word ion exchange already indicates that another ion is released in response to an absorbed ion. With water softening, this means that the hardness formers calcium and magnesium ions present in the water are exchanged for sodium ions.
By applying ion exchange, blockages due to lime deposits in pipe systems, equipment and fittings can be prevented. An additional advantage is that savings can be made on often high costs. Examples of this are energy loss and time-consuming maintenance with often aggressive cleaning agents. Using a water softener will therefore offer many advantages, in particular an extension of the lifespan of expensive equipment. In almost all processes where water is heated, the softener is indispensable.
Jos ten Berg BV supplies water softeners from Lubron and Brita, among others.
